Things We Will Do Over The Summer Thursday

There is no homework over the summer. However, there are several things that you can do to avoid the dreaded Brain Drain:
  • Sign up the Chicago Public Library Challenge
  • Do IXL 5 grade
  • Read for an hour or more. We need to keep our brain filled with lots of knowledge
Thank you to Zizi and Nicholas for writing this post. l U l

It was a great year, and it is the students and families of this year's Team201 that are to thank! Thank you for sending your kids to school ready to learn and for your tremendous support! I hope that you all will stay in touch. I love to hear about high school and college plans. Please know that I am always happy to help with advice and ideas.

Wanderlust Wednesday

Thanks for this great idea, Nicholas.  We "traveled" to China today, with Terrence as our guide. We are all getting into summer mode. We spent the day writing letters to the fifth grade teachers, working on our Math projects, and completing some memory books. In a minute, we will talk about Juneteenth, which should be more widely celebrated.

This evening at home....
Clean out the book bag.
The only items needed tomorrow are: a pencil and your lunch, if you normally bring one from home.
It is o.k. to bring a small bag to school tomorrow and leave the bookbag at home. You may bring a small pencil case.

Tomorrow we will...
-Write letters to the Future Fourth Graders
-Play some games
-Travel to Nigeria with Mariam and learn some Yorba.
-Have a great day together and celebrate the year.

Miss You Already Monday

Good afternoon Team201 Families-
Today was our final Monday! I will be writing a longer post this week.
This evening at home...
-Clean out your book bag.
-Each child needs a pencil case, glue, and a book for these last few days.
-Reading should be a part of your child's daily routine.

If you have tape or glue sticks at home, we need it for our final math project.

Team201Tuesday

Hello Team201 Families!
Today we began an exciting new math project: Geometrocity! Student architects will use their math skills to design and create a city. Right now, we are in the permit stage. Tomorrow, we move on to Phase 2:Design.
Tomorrow we will pay a visit to your future home, Pod 320. We will tour the pod and later in the week, we will have a Q and A session with a panel of 5th grade students.

This evening at home...

  • Make sure that you are finished with Phase I of the Geometricity.  Don't forget to bring it to school. If you leave the packet at home, you will need to start over and you won't move on the Phase II.
  • Read and get confirmation
  • Finish the Social Studies classwork, if you did not get to it in class.
  • Take out that binder! Each child should have  a folder each day, but not binders!
