Toad Ball Thursday

Frog Ball would be more accurate, but I am sticking with the alliteration thing!  Today we read about John McNabb's infamous "frog ball" pitch. The feats of Maniac Magee are accumulating. What will he do next?

Today we also....

  • worked on our Heat comics
  • worked on a mixed math challenge
  • met in small groups to practice converting customary units of length
  • read about Pre Columbian culture in North America
  • did some esparks!
  • read a couple of chapters in Maniac Magee

This evening at home.....
  • work on your Poseidon Book and study for tomorrow's quiz. If you are finished,  please write a short story or informational piece that uses 10 or more of the words that you included in the book.
  • work on Go Math 12.2 hw and practice
A note about the Poseidon books: You will notice a "progress grade" on each book. We have spent a considerable amount of class time on these, and most kids are on track for success. We will devote aabout 30 minutes  to finishing them tomorrow, but they will be collected for a final grade by the end of the day.   In order to finish, may kids will need to work this evening.  Each root should contain: the root, the meaning of the root, 5 words that use the root( you should know what these words mean), and a sentence that uses one of the words correctly and a quick picture/icon or illustration.

Tomorrow, we will take a quick quiz on chapters 1-7 in Maniac Magee.  It will be timed, but it will be open book. If you have been participating in class, you will be fine!
