I have been at school all week preparing for another exciting year in 201. I can't wait to meet the new team, and to catch up with the Team201 kids who are on the 3rd floor. I am sure that many parents and students have been checking the Portal and already know that they are on their way to 201. Are you nervous? Teachers get those "first day jitters" too! New classmates, new year, new students, new teacher, homework, math facts, reading tests, word problems...Am I making it worse? Don't worry! It will be fine. It will exceed fine.

I have been reading, reading, reading this summer. I am currently working on a biography about Daniel Boone, which I am really enjoying but is one of those "read- other- books- in- between -sessions" books for me. Honestly, it is just really heavy and holding it is exhausting. This week I finished Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. I really can't get enough of this story. Pax is a book that I have just started and hope to share with Team 201 this month. This story is about a boy and his pet fox. Pet fox???!!!! There is some sad separation stuff and some adventure stuff. There are more books, but I will tell you about them at school.

I will be sending home a very longish "Welcome" letter and a Parent Survey on Tuesday. Tuesday will be busy. We will be surrounded by paper towels, and kleenex! It may be confusing at times and there will definitely be some fun. It will be student surveys and getting- to- know- you and organization. It will be loud. It will be a start!
